Job description

Job Description Designs and ensures adherence to his/her recommended IT system landscape for optimal data flow, operational stability and avoidance of risks among systems supporting internal business processes.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design & Develop:Evaluate, recommend, design, and implement on premise and on cloud big data technologies and infrastructure that enable high performing, scalable, secure and stable solutions. This includes creation of high-level designs (HLD) and low-level designs (LLD) to communicate solutions to implementing teams

  • Collaborate: Work closely with analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders to define data architecture that is fit purpose and fit for use. This involves identifying requirements and use-cases with internal and external stakeholders, creating solutions that leverage big data and cloud technologies, and driving technical architecture and implementation plans.

  • Innovate: Stay on top of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance and future-proof our solutions. You will develop proofs-of-concept, minimum viable products, prototypes and product demos for new data technologies that we want to leverage for Globe's data platform

  • Champion: Serve as the go-to big data subject matter expert, passionately guiding technical consultations for business, product groups, and fellow solution architects.

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Technical Expertise: Strong background in Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, RHOCP, etc.), microservices architecture, DevOps, and enterprise-grade solutions. A Proven track record of architecting and building large scale distributed big data systems on premises and on the cloud is essential.

  • Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience as a Solution Architect, in designing and implementing complex systems. Hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake or other comparable big data platforms, and big data or streaming data tools is required.

  • Programming Skills: Hands-on experience with programming languages typically used in big data solutions (Python, Spark dbt, SQL).

  • Data Concepts: Deep understanding of traditional data warehousing, business intelligence and data management concepts, principles and techniques.

  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Analytical, with the ability to take on abstract business challenges, and design practical and scalable solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills paired with the ability to develop creative and efficient solutions.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high degree of comfort in speaking with senior executives at large companies. Comfortable in translating technical requirements into clear, concise business objectives.
