Job Summary:

The Senior Data Scientist will provide data analytics for the afloat network system design, enhancing the Navy's networking capabilities and developing data models for network engineering and cybersecurity support.
Responsibilities:
• Provide data analytics for the afloat network system design.
• Enhance the Navy's networking capabilities by ensuring reliable and secure connectivity, streamlining support processes, and facilitating the transition to an enterprise network capability.
• Develop data models to evaluate and provide network engineering, cybersecurity support, and technical support services for existing and future network capabilities.
• Provide strategic networking guidance, conduct long-term assessment of future technologies and techniques for incorporation into operational weapon systems, and facilitate the development of a common, flexible, standardized network architecture that is reliable, easily upgradable, reconfigurable, and maintainable to facilitate rapid implementation.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Master’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, or Computer Science
• Minimum 5 years of experience developing, analyzing, or deploying data-driven solutions
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience with machine learning or AI enabled systems.
• Experience with data analysis, visualization, or decision support tools
• Experience with Python or similar programming languages
• Experience using version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Must be a US citizen
• Must have an active Secret Clearance
Preferred:
• Experience with natural language processing or large language models
• Experience deploying applications in operational environments (afloat/ashore)
• Experience with containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
