Job Summary:

They are seeking a Data Science Associate to transform data into actionable insights that support student-athlete success and competitive excellence, working closely with various teams to develop innovative data-driven solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze, process, and visualize data to support decision-making across sports performance, recruiting, tactical analysis, and game strategy.
• Collaborate with coaches, analysts, and performance staff to develop tools and insights that enhance athlete and team performance.
• Partner with the Back-End Database Engineer to integrate, maintain, and improve data-driven systems and applications.
• Diagnose system issues, troubleshoot production challenges, and conduct testing to ensure analytics solutions operate effectively.
• Develop reports, dashboards, models, and other analytical resources that improve data accessibility and decision-making.
• Lead and support internal research projects that contribute to the competitive advantage of Notre Dame Athletics.
• Work collaboratively across multiple disciplines to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
• Stay current on emerging technologies, analytical techniques, and industry trends to help advance the department's capabilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Sports Performance Leadership Team and Back-End Database Engineer.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in a data science or related field; graduate-level training preferred.
• Highly proficient with multiple data systems and programming languages.
• Knowledge and skills required to formulate and pursue impactful questions regarding recruiting, tactical insights, and game strategy.
• Strong organizational skills, intellectual curiosity, stress tolerance, ability to handle uncertainty, and persistent desire to start and complete projects.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to dynamically adapt messaging to a diverse group of stakeholders.
• Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
• Nights and weekends will be required.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
• This position requires a regular on-campus presence (NO REMOTE WORK).
