What Data Science contributes to Cardinal Health
The Data & Analytics Function oversees the analytics life-cycle in order to identify, analyze and present relevant insights that drive business decisions and anticipate opportunities to achieve a competitive advantage. This function manages analytic data platforms, the access, design and implementation of reporting/business intelligence solutions, and the application of advanced quantitative modeling.
Data Science applies base, scientific methodologies from various disciplines, techniques and tools that extracts knowledge and insight from data to solve complex business problems on large data sets, integrating multiple systems.

Job Overview

We are seeking a product-oriented Data Science professional who partners with engineering and developer teams to turn analytical concepts into real, working business solutions. In this role, you will be hands-on with data --- building prototypes, designing outputs, and setting up tracking metrics --- but your primary focus is ensuring our products serve a clear business purpose. You will act as the bridge between technical development and financial workflows, ensuring the models we build are trusted, highly usable, and deeply integrated into daily business processes. This role is ideal for an analytical professional who has strong technical skills but is ultimately energized by product adoption and measurable business impact.
Qualifications

  • 4-8 years of experience, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages (SQL & Python)
  • Experience working within Agile and SDLC frameworks.
  • Experience using Git and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
  • Experience containerizing applications and machine learning models using Docker.
  • Experience deploying, managing, or supporting workloads on Kubernetes platforms

Requirements

  • Familiarity with MLOps concepts and production model deployment
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating alongside developers or data engineers to deliver data-driven solutions.
  • A product-focused mindset, with a strong interest in user experience, adoption, and practical business problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical details clearly to non-technical business partners.
