Job description

ZimZee Recruiting is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our client in Lehi, Utah. This individual contributor role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of signal processing, machine learning, and biomedical research. You will play a key role in designing, validating, and deploying algorithms that transform complex physiological signals into clinically meaningful health insights.


Skills and Requirement

  • 6–8+ years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, or machine learning engineering with a history of building and validating production-quality models
  • Strong Python programming skills with experience using scientific computing and machine learning libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow
  • Experience working with physiological signals or biomedical data, including wearable devices, clinical monitoring, neuroscience, sports science, or related domains
  • Strong foundation in signal processing, statistical modeling, and machine learning for time-series data
  • Experience developing models using limited or sparse datasets while understanding overfitting, model generalization, and validation best practices
  • Ability to read, evaluate, and implement approaches from scientific literature
  • Experience with interpretable or physically informed modeling techniques and an appreciation for explainable machine learning
  • Familiarity with MLOps concepts such as model versioning, reproducibility, monitoring, CI/CD, or deployment to edge, mobile, or cloud environments


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize signal processing pipelines for multimodal physiological sensor data, including PPG, bioimpedance, galvanic skin response, temperature, and IMU signal
  • Build, validate, and improve predictive machine learning models that generate clinically meaningful physiological metrics from wearable sensor dat
  • Evaluate and recommend modeling approaches that balance interpretability, scientific rigor, and predictive performanc
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, clinical researchers, and hardware teams to translate physiological research into production-ready algorithm
  • Help establish and improve MLOps practices, including model versioning, deployment workflows, monitoring, and reproducibility standard
  • Contribute to experimental design, algorithm validation, and data collection efforts for both laboratory and human-subject studies
