Our client, a leader in agricultural research and development, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Field Research Assistant to join their team. As a Field Research Assistant, you will be an essential part of the research support team, contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge and ensuring the integrity of research data. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to quality, aligning successfully with the organization’s mission to support innovative research initiatives.

Job Title: Field Research Assistant

Location: Johnston, IA

Pay Range: $22.00/hour

Shift: 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday

What's the Job?

  • Perform a wide range of tasks in laboratory, field, and greenhouse settings supporting regulatory science research programs.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of samples and data through meticulous processing and documentation.
  • Assist with day-to-day sample processing operations, including receipt, lyophilization, grinding, weighing, and distribution.
  • Manage seed lot inventory, prepare samples for characterization, and support distribution activities such as seed receipt, sub-sampling, cleaning, and shipping.
  • Support greenhouse and field data collection, sample collection, and related activities to facilitate ongoing research projects.

  • Ability to follow established protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working in laboratory, greenhouse, or field environments.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.
  • No driving or special equipment required for this role.
