Job description

You will partner with senior business leaders and an interdisciplinary team of User Experience researchers, data scientists, economists, and engineers to develop innovative solutions at Amazon's scale. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with research data and models, build Machine Learning tools, and derive insights from large, unstructured datasets. Key job responsibilities
- Manage cross-functional engineering, product, data science, and business teams to deliver scientific programs that enhance employee experiences, developing detailed plans, schedules, milestones, and risk mitigation strategies
- Identify dependencies and enable seamless collaboration between technical teams building AI/ML models, product managers defining requirements, data scientists and economists providing insights, and business stakeholders across Amazon's employee services
- Lead communication and provide executive visibility into high-impact programs, continuously monitoring progress, highlighting roadblocks early, and developing contingency plans to ensure successful delivery
- Accountable for developing and implementing overall strategy and driving teams inside and outside of the organization to deliver results.
- Mentor and develop junior Technical Program Managers, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support their career growth

The Central Science Team within Amazon's People Experience and Technology organization uses economics, behavioral science, statistics, and machine learning to proactively identify mechanisms and process improvements which simultaneously improve Amazon and the lives, wellbeing, and value of work for Amazonians. We are an interdisciplinary team combining the talents of science and engineering to develop and deliver solutions that measurably achieve this goal.
Our team leads scientific program areas that apply technology and data-driven insights to enhance all aspects of work for employees and managers. We foster a collaborative environment where innovation thrives, and every team member contributes to shaping the future of employee experience through AI/ML technology at Amazon's scale.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
