Job description

Assistant Professor, School of Accountancy

Fall 2027. The School of Accountancy at California State University, Fullerton invites applications for two tenure‑track Assistant Professor positions in Accounting with an appointment to begin Spring or Fall 2027.

Position

CSUF faculty are committed teacher/scholars who bring research and creative discovery to students in classrooms, labs, studios, and projects. The assistant professor will develop and teach introductory and core courses in areas such as Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Data Analytics, and Emerging Technologies in Accounting. The role requires producing peer‑reviewed research, championing the School of Accountancy, advising students, serving on committees, and engaging with the broader university community.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in scholarly activities with a view toward tenure.
  • Advise students and serve on departmental and university committees.
  • Contribute to the life and development of the School of Accountancy and the disciplinary community.
Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in accounting, information systems, data science, business analytics, or a related field (by the time of appointment).
  • Demonstrated commitment to and excellence in undergraduate teaching.
  • A strong record of scholarly accomplishments appropriate to the level of appointment.
  • Experience in working collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Ability to balance teaching, scholarship, and service.
  • Demonstrated potential for effective integration of technology into instruction.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with students from intersecting marginalized social groups.
  • Ability and commitment to communicate and work effectively in a culturally diverse environment.
