Job description

Description:

Summary

The role of this position is to provide leadership to all operations in an assigned production department. This requires close coordination and communication with the facility maintenance and headquarters to ensure that production operations meet internal and external customer requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes

Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Develop and maintain engineering documents such as PFMEA, etc.
  • Ensure product and process quality meet the specifications required.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning the production process, logistic flow, and equipment layout.
  • Support and lead continuous improvement, problem-solving, and process improvement activities.
  • Implement continuous improvement activities for ongoing scrap reduction, cycle time reduction, and downtime reduction.
  • Ensures adherence to standard processes for data collection, documentation, and reporting.
  • Generate and execute improvement ideas for cost reduction, labor savings, material flow optimization, and safety.
  • Communicate with relevant departments such as QA, Research, HQ, and Business service staff to resolve any issues that arise in the plant.
  • Review process machine/process tooling specifications and confirm manufacturing specifications.
  • Support to train maintenance members about products and processes.
  • Comply with the Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Basic Qualifications (The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of production engineering in the automotive industry.
  • Able to use and maintain welding robot (Preference given to be able to use Hyundai and Yaskawa welding robots)
  • Ability to draw using CAD software - Experience with Autodesk preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Korean) is required.
  • Able to work rotating shifts.
  • Rotating shifts are defined as working a day shift, then an evening/night shift on a rotating schedule.
  • Able to work extended hours, shifts and weekends based on business needs.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • Able to work well with others and collaborate as a team.
  • PLC knowledge is preferred.
