Job description

The Data Services Analyst delivers custom data solutions that help DMSi customers maximize the value from their ERP solution. This role works across a broad and growing set of technologies, including custom reporting, business intelligence dashboards, data transformations, and system integrations. The right candidate is execution-focused, intellectually curious, and eager to grow alongside an expanding technology stack. They will bring a strong aptitude for problem-solving, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine interest in using AI tools to work smarter and help the team build more efficient workflows.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  1. Evaluate and manage customer requests using internal systems, including the ability to scope, quote, design a solution, and execute on the project plan.
  2. Develop and deliver custom data solutions, including report writing, data extractions, forms customization, business intelligence dashboards, and system integrations.
  3. Use AI tools and assistants as a standard part of daily work to increase efficiency and contribute to the team's development of AI-assisted workflows and internal tooling
  4. Build proficiency in DMSi's evolving product and integration ecosystem, including current and emerging platforms.
  5. Develop and maintain an advanced working knowledge of DMSi's internal support tools and delivery processes.
  6. Assist other DMSi personnel through escalation support, coaching, and training on data-related topics.
  7. Complete documentation related to job responsibilities and contribute to the DMSi Knowledge Base.
  8. Lead, attend, or assist with training for internal personnel, customers, and prospects.
  9. Assist with internal projects to support departmental and organizational objectives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Technical: SQL/query proficiency (Cyberquery a plus), BI tools (Power BI, Phocas, Tableau, etc.), ETL/data lineage and database fundamentals (schemas, indexes, keys).
Analytical: Genuine curiosity paired with strong problem-solving, research, and the ability to work independently through ambiguous business challenges.
AI-forward: Comfortable using AI tools (Claude, Copilot) to speed up and improve work quality.
Quality-focused: High attention to detail, diagnoses issues correctly and validates solutions before customers see them.
Technical collaboration: Familiar with integration/automation (Workato or similar), comfortable with code reviews and tools like GitHub.
Execution: Prioritizes well, works under pressure, hits deadlines.
People skills: Communicates clearly, builds relationships across all levels (including customers/vendors), exercises tact and keeps confidentiality.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:College degree in Data Science, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS), Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related discipline preferred; 3-5 years of equivalent work experience in a relevant field will be considered.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Normal office environment with use of computers and telephone systems; no unusual physical demands.
Travel as needed, including business air travel and car rental.
