Data Analyst – Journeyman

D amp;G is seeking a Data Analyst to build and maintain secure, scalable data systems; automate monitoring of intelligence, diplomatic, open‑source, and operational inputs; and deliver clear, actionable insights through advanced analytics, machine‑learning models, dashboards, and intuitive user interfaces. The role collaborates with stakeholders to refine tools and workflows, applies modern statistical and visualization methods to identify trends and forecast outcomes, and produces concise reports that support informed decision‑making in support of USSTRATCOM assessments.
What You Will Do
  • Build and manage structured data systems to ensure accuracy, maintainability, scalability, and secure access.
  • Execute automated monitoring of intelligence, diplomatic, open-source information, after-action reports, and component inputs and provide analytical insights on global trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Create tools and dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate in iterative cycles, ensuring analytics deliverables align with evolving requirements and priorities.
  • Gather input from stakeholders to refine tools, reports, and workflows for improved usability and relevance.
  • Develop graphic user interfaces and connectors that enable seamless interaction between data repositories and visualization platforms.
  • Generate clear, tailored reports and disseminate results across multiple organizational levels to inform strategic decisions.
  • Apply statistical methods, machine learning, and advanced analytics to identify patterns, generate forecasts, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Assess available datasets, identify opportunities, and apply emerging analytical techniques and visualization methods to uncover new insights and enhance decision-making.
  • Other duties as required by Program Manager
What We Are Looking For
Required
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, or equivalent field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience designing and implementing data collection strategies, management, and in-depth analysis of large, complex datasets.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects.
  • Expertise in the following: Python, R, Business Intelligence tools and data cleaning and wrangling.
  • Proficient in the following: Structured Query Language database management.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including contributing to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Direct experience developing Machine Learning models required.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
  • This role is restricted to U.S. person(s) (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
