WHO YOU ARE

  • You are pursuing a bachelor's degree or master's degree in Data Science, Informatics, Statistics, Econometrics or related major with specialization in Analytics or Data Science at an accredited college/university with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and Summer 2028

  • Must have experience or curriculum in programming languages such as Python or R, SQL, and or tools like Power BI or Tableau

  • You have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • You have good verbal and written communication skills

  • You are curious about financial markets and interested in learning more about the financial services industry

  • You have proven analytical, data interpretation, problem-solving, critical and strategic thinking skills through coursework and/or previous internship experience

  • You have demonstrated leadership and teamwork through projects and extracurricular

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As an intern at Northern Trust, you will have the opportunity to build relevant skills, work on meaningful projects, and participate in a collaborative program designed to support your early career development. You will work directly with your team on day-to-day tasks while joining internship program events to develop new skills, network with senior leaders, and connect with fellow interns in the program. Through hands-on experience, meaningful project work, and exposure to a dynamic global business, you will begin to see how your interests can grow into a long-term career at Northern Trust. A recruiter will work with you to determine the best team placement given your interests, skill set, and relevant experience.

Technology interns are fully integrated into engineering and technology teams, contributing to real financial solutions. Interns gain an inside look into the innovative technologies, practices, and business solutions that power a frontrunner in financial services.

WHAT YOU'LL GAIN:

Every internship in technology regardless of discipline is likely to involve:

  • Some automation via coding, whether simple OS shell scripting, low code automations or other form

  • The use or development of some generative AI capabilities

SAMPLE FUTURE CAREER PATHS/TRACKS:

Technology Analyst in the Data Science and Analytics track as part of our Analyst Development Program (ADP).

Salary Range:

Salary is $35.00 USD per hour

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
