What You Will Do:

The Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering (ASE) Technology organization is seeking a talented Principal Data Scientist to support the Digital Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (DMRO) program. This program is empowering teams across the business to make better decisions informed by fielded part inspection data and the application of cutting-edge data and AI/ML technologies.

As a Principal Data Scientist, you will play a key role in developing and delivering game-changing data-centric capabilities and products. You will be responsible for supporting the complete lifecycle of data-driven solutions, from the discovery and connection to cross-functional data sources, Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) workloads for data capture and management, and Analytics and AI/ML product development to discover trends, predict part distress, and maximize business impact for our end users.

  • Develop robust and scalable data integration and ETL pipelines to capture aftermarket part-level inspection data and connect to various cross-functional data sources.
  • Architect and develop foundational data lake and data warehouse workspaces in partnership with enterprise stakeholders to meet scalability and security requirements.
  • Design and build data models and data pipelines to integrate data and deliver curated VAULTIS-compliant data products for the enterprise.
  • Define, prototype, test, deploy, and monitor machine learning and statistical models to provide analytic and predictive capabilities for critical engineering use cases.
  • Build and maintain Power BI analytics dashboards.
  • Explore, prototype, and apply cutting-edge AI technologies, including GenAI/LLM technologies, to transform how our data is captured and utilized.
  • Collaborate with the DMRO software development teams to define and deliver end-to-end data-centric products for engineering, including integration of data-based models and analytics in our software applications.
  • Collaborate with other team members and key stakeholders to identify product and technology improvement opportunities.


Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of exp or an Associates Degree and 10+ years of exp in developing in Python (NumPy, Pandas, scitkit-learn) for statistical or machine learning applications.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with Databricks
  • Experience with database technology such as SQL or NoSQL
  • Experience developing PowerBI/Qlik dashboards
  • Experience or familiarity with AI/ML technologies, including GenAI/LLMs
  • Experience working in an agile environment

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
