Purpose

The ADME/SLOT Discovery Operations Scientist supports the Specialized Science organization by executing and coordinating critical bioanalytical and operational activities that directly advance the Lilly ADME discovery portfolio. This individual will serve as a key operational resource for the SLOT (Scientific Logistics and Oversight Team) and ADME Specimen Management functions, managing CRO partnerships, study lifecycle activities, data integrity workflows, and functional planning and contracting initiatives.

ResponsibilitiesDiscovery Bioanalysis - CRO Study Coordination and Data management
  • Coordinate bioanalytical study activities with internal and external research partners, including tracking project status and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Manage the intake, submission, and quality review of bioanalysis study requests and vendor deliverables.
  • Prepare bioanalytical study reports, including data compilation, analysis, and summary documentation.
  • Maintain data repositories and templates used to organize, validate, and archive ADME discovery data.
  • Reconcile vendor invoices and maintain accurate financial tracking records, confirming study completion prior to approval.
  • Partner with procurement, quality, and operations teams to support vendor oversight and compliance
Functional Planning, Operational Strategy and Vendor Management
  • Support functional planning and contracting activities, including capacity planning, forecasting, and resource alignment with external partners.
  • Contribute to operational metrics, dashboards, and reporting to monitor performance and identify process improvements.
  • Help reconcile vendor contractual commitments against actual utilization and support vendor governance activities such as performance reviews and contract renewals.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and elevate issues appropriately.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a scientific field (e.g., chemistry, biochemistry, biology, pharmaceutical sciences).
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a laboratory, CRO, or pharmaceutical operations setting.
  • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization or visas for this role, including but not limited to F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, or L-1.
Additional Preferences
  • Experience in ADME, bioanalysis, or drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK), including familiarity with in vitro and in vivo study types (e.g., BEA, TK studies).
  • Familiarity with LC-MS bioanalytical platforms and software (e.g., Analyst, Watson) and CRO data delivery workflows.
  • Experience with CRO oversight and sponsor-vendor interactions, including invoice reconciliation, study tracking, performance monitoring, financial operations, process improvement, and metric development.
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent activities and meet deliverable timelines.
  • Proficiency with data management tools and systems such as Mobius/Inventa, SAP Fiori, Smartsheet, and/or other applicable applications.
  • Familiarity with RRL data loading workflows and enterprise scientific data platforms.
  • Ability to produce high-quality written documentation including SOPs, job aids, reports, and executive-level summaries.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, time management, organization, and follow-through on commitments.
  • Proficient written and spoken English language skills, including effective verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidateโ€™s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

$66,000 - $193,600
