Job description


Responsible for transforming data by indexing and scanning documents. Ensure the appropriate information from the documents is input into the IRON DATA system. Also responsible for quality control of each document.

Role and Responsibilities

  • File and monitor workers’ comp, property, and casualty claims to ensure timely processing and coordinate appropriate claims documentation, incident reports and track losses and corrective actions
  • Maintain records, retrieve information, and produce correspondence, reports, and forms.
  • Input appropriate information from the documents into the IRON DATA system as appropriate for the type of batch being indexed.
  • Verifies the accuracy and quality of each specific index file and document image by performing 100% quality check. Make corrections as needed.
  • Reconciles error conditions with the Scan/Index and Production Control Supervisor when necessary. Make corrections as needed.
  • Provides customer service to answer questions in their area of responsibility. Responds to questions or direct to supervisor.
  • Maintains contract required production and quality control standards.
  • Complete training to perform all positions within the mail room. Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains a positive, team-oriented relationship with management, peers, and customers.
  • All work reflects a neat, professional image.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of document scanning or data management experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with word processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Creative and flexible problem solving; desire to work with employment and training services consumers, employees, and the public; team orientation; appropriate grooming and dressing.
  • Sitting, bending, and stooping.
  • Occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential performance requirements satisfactorily.
  • Must maintain acceptable attendance to avoid negative team impact.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear. The ability to cope with and tolerate moderate levels of stress is also a necessity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate a telephone and keyboard.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation.
