Job description

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking our next Data & Media Management Specialist!!! You will support the NISSC 3 program as a Data & Media Management Specialist II, responsible for managing the acquisition, validation, storage, protection, and distribution of documentation and media. You'll help ensure all artifacts are properly controlled, tracked, and protected, and that data management activities align with configuration management and cybersecurity requirements.
You will work closely with configuration management, cybersecurity, engineering, and the EDLM/UDLM (Emergency/Urgent Depot Level Maintenance) Manager to support mission-critical operations. Responsibilities • Acquire, collect, validate, store, protect, and distribute documentation and media in accordance with program and DoD requirements.
• Lead semiannual inventories of documentation and media, ensuring full accountability and accurate records.
• Coordinate handling, delivery, transfer, and destruction of artifacts (including classified/controlled media) per security and CM processes.
• Organize and maintain physical and electronic artifact repositories to ensure secure, traceable access for authorized users.
• Develop and maintain key data management deliverables, including the Data Management Plan and Data Accession List.
• Integrate data and media management activities with configuration management and cybersecurity processes.
• Support security compliance activities related to data/media (e.g., vulnerability scans, risk assessments, evidence collection).
• Maintain detailed records to support inspections, audits, and cybersecurity readiness.
• Coordinate closely with the EDLM/UDLM Manager to ensure urgent/emergency maintenance artifacts and records are properly captured and controlled. Qualifications • 4-6 years of experience in data/media management, cybersecurity operations, or documentation/configuration control
• Hands-on experience with documentation and artifact tracking in a secure or regulated environment (DoD/Defense preferred)
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and security compliance (e.g., vulnerability scanning, risk assessment, RMF support) • Bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related field OR equivalent DoD/Military training and experience • Active Secret clearance Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI • One or more of the following: Cloud+, GSEC, Security+ (CE), or SSCP Notice of Anticipated Employment Opportunities
