Position Summary:
Act as the Store Manager in his/her absence. Oversee work of shift personnel as assigned. Maximize customer satisfaction, sales and profit.
Job Responsibilities:
Maximize Customer Satisfaction and Sales Improvement by delivering Customer Service +1
  • Provide quick, friendly service, with a welcoming smile
  • Ensure staff is customer service focused
  • Organize time of self and others to ensure Customer Service Plus One
  • Suggest additional and promotional items /suggestive selling

Oversee the Work of Shift Personnel
  • Treat Associates fairly and consistently
  • Orient, train and develop new Associates and retrain existing Associates, to improve individual and store performance
  • Prioritize duties, manage time of self and shift personnel Oversee store cleanliness and conditions, inside and out by performing continuous store
  • Ensure alcohol, tobacco, lotto and instant lottery sales are appropriately handled
  • Ensure shift coverage, making special arrangements if necessary
  • Communicate shift activities or concerns to Store Manager and fellow Shift Managers
  • Maintain displays and product presentation; suggest merchandising improvements

  • Standing without sitting for 6-10 hour shifts (sitting only for a break of up to 20 minutes)

  • Lifting/moving up to 25 pounds on a regular basis
  • Lift and organize cases of milk and other containers weighing up to 50 pounds one or more times per shift
  • Repetitive arm/wrist movement in scanning items and dipping ice cream
  • Working in temperature extremes for extended periods (cooler approximately 40°, shoveling snow, cleaning in winter and summer)
  • Bend and scoop hard ice cream from bulk containers for preparation of cones
  • Become crossed trained in all attributes of the business
  • Oversee the operations of the laundry mats, gas operations, and warmers/kitchens if applicable.

Education/Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 90 days as Quality Dairy Customer Service Representative or six (6) months prior management experience
  • Completion of Customer Service Representative Training
  • Completion of Shift Manager Development and Certification Program
  • Willing to become serv safe certified if their location requires it.
