The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Sales Manager to accelerate the growth of the CoinDesk Data business. In this role, you will lead commercial efforts within the Americas, managing the entire sales lifecycle-from prospecting to closing-with prestigious institutional clients, including asset managers, hedge funds, crypto native firms, and top-tier financial institutions. The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of the digital asset ecosystem, an extensive network within financial services, and a proven track record of selling complex data feeds and API solutions.
What You'll Do
  • Territory Expansion: Drive net new business expansion by serving as the Data sales lead for your assigned regional coverage area, forging and nurturing complex relationships with institutional clients.
  • Full-Funnel Sales Management: Proactively identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities, effectively managing a robust sales pipeline within your designated region to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Product Consultative Selling: Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of CoinDesk's offerings, including BMR-compliant benchmarks, custom index solutions, and multi-asset real-time and historical APIs. Tailor these products to meet the complex infrastructure needs of institutional clients.
  • Client Relationship Retention: Act as the primary regional liaison for clients, ensuring long-term partnership retention, high customer satisfaction, and maximizing client ROI.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with global sales, product development, research, and trading teams to ensure seamless service delivery and align regional market feedback with the product roadmap.
  • Compliance & Marketing Alignment: Coordinate with marketing and legal/compliance teams to develop localized promotional materials while ensuring strict adherence to strict regulatory environments.
  • Pipeline Hygiene: Maintain absolute data integrity for all sales activities, forecasts, and metrics utilizing Salesforce.

What You Have:
  • 5+ years of institutional sales experience within fintech, market data, global finance, or the digital asset sector.
  • Deep understanding of the cryptocurrency ecosystem, market infrastructure, on-chain metrics, and benchmark regulations (such as BMR/IOSCO principles).
  • A well-developed, active network of institutional C-suite and decision-maker connections within your assigned regional coverage area.
  • Proven ability to source, negotiate, and close complex institutional data or index licensing deals independently.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex quantitative and technological concepts for institutional buyers.
  • Proficient in AI, Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, and modern team collaboration tools (Slack, G-Suite).
  • Ability to travel as necessary for client meetings and major industry conferences within the region.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $150,000 - $205,000 + discretionary annual target bonus + performance incentives/benefits.
