What is a data sales manager?

Data Sales Managers are professionals responsible for selling data products, services, or solutions to clients. They identify potential customers, develop sales strategies, and manage relationships with existing clients to meet revenue targets. Their role often involves understanding client needs, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with data analysts or product teams to deliver customized solutions. Data Sales Managers play a crucial role in helping organizations monetize their data assets and drive business growth.

  • Track and analyze sales data to inform strategy and report on performance

  • Serve as the primary external face of Siftex — a trusted advisor to every customer
  • Train customers and their staff on proper product usage and application
  • Deliver a consistently high standard of communication, follow-up, and care
Marketing
  • Lead Siftex’s marketing function and serve as the primary liaison to our external marketing agency
  • Develop and execute marketing strategy in close partnership with the General Manager
  • Ensure a consistent, compelling brand presence across all customer touchpoints
Pricing Strategy
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and Customer Service Manager to develop pricing strategy and discount guidelines
  • Use data and market insight to make smart, strategic pricing decisions that protect gross profit
Collaboration & Culture
  • Work closely with the Customer Service Manager, who leads the CSR team, to ensure alignment between sales and service
  • Bring a check-your-ego, team-first attitude to every interaction

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Self-directed, with strong time management and the ability to thrive with minimal oversight
  • Ability to travel 40–50% of the time and work from our South Windsor, CT office
Preferred
  • B2B sales experience in processing industries: food, chemical, pharmaceutical, paper, or similar
  •  Familiarity with reseller, OEM, or multi-channel sales environments
  • Experience working in or visiting industrial and manufacturing facilities
  • Prior sales leadership or team mentorship experience
