We are seeking a Product Data Scientist who can identify business problems, translate insights into actionable recommendations, develop AI/ML stack solutions, drive test/learn plans, present recommendations, and independently deploy these solutions into production. The ideal candidate has a high sense of urgency, a creative mind, great communication skills, and a strong background in ML and analytics.

Responsibilities
  • Improve funnel efficiency and drive business KPI by partnering with the Product team to optimize the application processes
  • Develop and automate reporting and monitoring around funnel performance metrics leveraging SQL and Python
  • Partner with various business units to develop AI/ML solutions aimed at optimizing and automating business tasks relating to application, applicants' verification and/or operational strategies
  • Assess the capabilities and values of 3rd party vendors.
  • Contribute to a culture focused on continuous learning and celebrate frequent wins, while providing valuable insights
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science/Engineering, Data Science or other quantitative major. Masters or PhD is preferred
  • 3+ years' experience analyzing data and delivering business insights
  • 1+ years' experience in AI development and deployment
  • Strong Python and SQL skills are required
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to translate quantitative concepts to a non-technical audience.
Function of the Role

The Shop pod is the most critical pod in the organization. It is responsible for the core of our application funnel, including application submit, presenting offers to customers in partnership with credit underwriting and pricing criteria, and converting customers to accept an offer. The pod's scope also includes APIs and affiliate experiences to enable loan marketplaces to offer Best Egg loans. The work involved in the Shop pod for the DS team consists of:

  • Supporting the product managers in business value sizing and prioritization for new Shop tickets
  • Working closely with the software engineers and data engineers to understand the new tech process and build out the data requirements for use in reporting
  • Supporting the pod's key metrics through advanced analysis into customer pain points into the funnel (e.g. improving KCF application submit rate)
  • Building out reports for test launches
$85,000 - $100,000 a year
