Markon is seeking an experienced Budget Execution / Financial Reporting Analyst to support an Intelligence Community customer. This position combines budget execution and financial reporting, requiring expertise in federal financial management, customer engagement, and data analytics. This role leverages IC financial systems, advanced Excel capabilities, and reporting tools such as COGNOS and Power BI to drive accurate financial execution and deliver actionable insights.

Responsibilities
  • Execute, monitor, and analyze budgets to ensure alignment with mission priorities and customer requirements.
  • Lead the development of financial reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using COGNOS and Power BI to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Design and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards that provide real-time visibility into budget execution, financial performance, and key metrics.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Utilize customer financial systems (e.g., BASIS) to track, update, and reconcile financial transactions.
  • Manage CLINs, BLIs, and associated funding structures to ensure accurate execution and reporting.
  • Support SLA compliance through proactive monitoring, reporting, and issue resolution.
  • Apply advanced Excel techniques to analyze large datasets and support financial reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and government stakeholders to align financial execution with program objectives.
  • Provide high-quality customer support and ensure timely, accurate financial deliverables.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to budget execution, reporting discrepancies, and financial compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in budget execution, financial management, financial reporting, or related roles.
  • Strong background in federal budget/finance processes and financial analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with BASIS and other Intelligence Community financial systems.
  • Proficiency with financial reporting tools such as COGNOS and Power BI.
  • Demonstrated experience developing interactive dashboards and data visualizations in Power BI.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience analyzing large datasets and building reports.
  • Strong understanding of SLAs, CLINs, BLIs, and federal budget execution frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer support in a mission-focused environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Salary RangeUSD $170,000.00 - USD $190,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
