Job description

Senior SEC Reporting Analyst

Location: Irving, TX

Salary: $110,000 โ€“ $130,000

Overview

Seeking an accounting professional with SEC reporting experience to support the development of a public company reporting function. This role offers exposure to SEC filings, SOX compliance, technical accounting, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

SEC Reporting & Compliance

  • Assist in preparing SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, registration statements, and proxy filings.
  • Prepare supporting workpapers and disclosure tie-outs to ensure filing accuracy.
  • Validate XBRL data for SEC submissions.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements, including cash flow statements, equity reporting, and footnote disclosures.
  • Support monthly and quarterly variance analysis and MD&A preparation.
  • Collaborate with finance and business teams to validate disclosures and financial reporting.

Technical Accounting

  • Research accounting issues and new accounting/reporting standards.
  • Prepare technical accounting memos supporting GAAP compliance.

Internal Controls & Audit Support

  • Assist with the development and execution of SOX-compliant internal controls.
  • Support external audits and quarterly reviews by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and reporting automation efforts.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA designation or progress toward CPA preferred.
  • Master's degree is a plus.

Experience

  • 2โ€“4 years of accounting experience in SEC reporting or public accounting.
  • Big 4 experience preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Experience with Excel required.
  • Experience with Workiva or other SEC reporting software preferred.
  • Exposure to SOX compliance, internal controls, or insurance accounting is a plus.

Additional Skills
