Job description

Job Title: Quality Assurance Inspector

Job Description

The Quality Assurance Inspector ensures that in-process and finished assembled products meet established specifications and quality standards. This role performs visual and dimensional inspections using tools such as calipers and tape measures, interprets blueprints, and documents inspection results in both manual and computer-based systems, including SAP. Depending on experience, the position may also include mechanical and electrical checks to verify product conformity.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect in-progress and finished assembled products to ensure they meet all specified quality standards and requirements.
  • Perform visual inspections and use measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to confirm that products conform to design specifications.
  • Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measuring tests, and documenting results.
  • Conduct mechanical and, depending on experience, electrical checks on products as required.
  • Record inspection data accurately using computers and data entry systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Access, navigate, enter, and extract quality and inventory information from SAP.
  • Assist with inventory management and inventory control by verifying counts and documenting discrepancies.
  • Support the manufacturing assembly process by identifying nonconforming products and communicating issues promptly.
  • Maintain organized records of inspections, tests, and approvals for traceability and reporting.
  • Follow established quality assurance and quality control procedures and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with production and other departments to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in the Quality Assurance and Quality Control field.
  • Proficiency using calipers, including reading and interpreting measurements accurately.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience using a tape measure for precise dimensional checks.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to access, navigate, enter, and extract information from SAP.
  • Experience with inspection of in-progress and finished assembled products.
  • Ability to conduct visual and measuring tests to confirm specifications.
  • Competence in basic computer use and data entry for recording inspection results.

Overtime may be required on Fridays, particularly for second shift. You will regularly use inspection tools such as calipers and tape measures, interpret blueprints, and work with computers and SAP to document inspection results and manage inventory-related information.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
