Job description

Overview

This role is remote within NC, TX, AZ, or GA

We are seeking an experienced Senior Salesforce Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust, scalable solutions on the Salesforce platform. This role is heavily focused on hands-on development of Apex, Lightning Web Components, integrations, and data architecture with the added ability to build and support CRM Analytics dashboards for business reporting. The ideal candidate is a strong hands-on engineer who can own solutions end-to-end, from technical design through deployment and support.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and unit test custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura Components, Visualforce, and Flow.
  • Build and maintain scalable, bulkified, and governor-limit-safe Apex code following object-oriented design and Salesforce best practices.
  • Design and implement complex data models, validation rules, triggers, and automation across multiple Salesforce clouds and org configurations.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems (e.g., MuleSoft, DocuSign, OnBase, Fenergo) using REST/SOAP APIs, platform events, and middleware.
  • Lead technical design discussions, produce solution design documents, and evaluate build-vs-configure tradeoffs for new requirements.
  • Build and maintain CRM Analytics dashboards, datasets, and recipes to support business reporting needs as a secondary responsibility.
  • Perform code reviews, enforce secure coding standards (FLS, CRUD, sharing rules), and mentor mid-level and junior developers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production defects, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement durable fixes.
  • Participate in release management and deployment activities across sandboxes (Dev/Test/UAT/Production), coordinating with QA and release teams.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation, including data models, integration designs, and deployment runbooks.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on Salesforce development experience, including strong command of Apex, LWC/Aura, SOQL/SOSL, and Flows.
  • Proven experience designing and building complex, high-volume Apex logic (triggers, batch/queueable/scheduled Apex, asynchronous processing).
  • Strong understanding of the Salesforce data model, security model, and multi-org/sandbox environments.
  • Hands-on experience integrating Salesforce with external systems via REST/SOAP APIs and middleware platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM Analytics (Tableau CRM/Einstein Analytics) for building datasets and dashboards.
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce release management and deployment practices across sandboxes.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
