Role Summary
The Technical Product Owner leads the strategy, development, and operations of Associated Bank's enterprise data platform. This role drives the adoption of modern DataOps and MLOps practices that improve scalability, reliability, and efficiency across the organization. The position offers the opportunity to lead a talented team while influencing the future of data and analytics capabilities at the bank.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute the enterprise DataOps strategy and roadmap to enhance scalability, security, performance, and reliability.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data platform engineers and administrators while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Build and advance MLOps capabilities to support efficient, compliant, and reliable machine learning model deployment.

  • Drive automation initiatives using Infrastructure-as-Code and related technologies to streamline deployment and platform management.

  • Oversee daily cloud data platform operations, including monitoring, performance optimization, and cost management.

  • Partner with business and technology teams to evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to strengthen data-driven decision-making.

  • Ensure adherence to cloud security, data protection, and governance best practices across the platform.

  • Optimize data integration, ETL/ELT, and platform processes to improve operational efficiency and user experience.

Education & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 8+ years of experience in information technology, software/application development, data platforms, or product ownership.

  • 3+ years of technology leadership experience.

  • Experience with Python and modern data engineering practices.

  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.

  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles, cloud platforms, and data management concepts.

  • Experience with DataOps technologies such as Airflow, Kafka, Spark, or similar tools.

  • Experience with machine learning deployment, workflow automation, and monitoring.

  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Preferred

  • Experience leading enterprise cloud data platform initiatives.

  • Experience implementing MLOps frameworks and machine learning operations at scale.

  • Knowledge of cloud security, identity management, and data protection best practices.

  • Experience driving platform modernization and automation programs within a regulated industry.
