Partner with the best
In this role, you will manage day-to-day data center construction activities across multiple project locations. You will oversee budgets, track critical path schedules, and ensure compliance with building standards. Working remotely and on-site, you will collaborate with vendors and internal teams to deliver successful data center projects.
As a Project Manager Data Center Construction, you will be responsible for:
  • Managing day-to-day construction activities across multiple multi-megawatt data center projects
  • Working with contractors and engineering teams, develop project schedules and track critical paths from equipment purchase through installation and completion
  • Managing project budgets, tracking actual spending, and managing service order scope changes
  • Ensuring project compliance with contractual terms, local building codes, and OSHA regulations
  • Providing regular progress reports covering timelines, budget updates, and construction status
  • Collaborating with equipment vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to drive project execution

Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree
  • Have 4+ years of direct contract administration experience
  • Be well versed with electrical, mechanical, fire protection, plumbing, BMS/EMS, and security systems
  • Have 4+ years of experience tracking pre-construction, mobilization, construction documents, permitting, commissioning, and project closeout
  • Demonstrate solid technical skills, effective communication, and willingness to travel to project sites
  • Be knowledgeable in construction law, business practices, and Microsoft Project applications
  • Be willing to travel periodically within the U.S. and hold a valid U.S. driver's license

Compensation
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $105,400 - $189,600/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
