Senior Nuclear Project Manager
Location: On-site 5 days a week
Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract
Experience Level: Senior (10-15+ Years)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Nuclear Project Manager to lead and deliver large-scale, complex projects within a nuclear utility environment. This individual will provide strategic leadership, oversee project execution from initiation through completion, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
The ideal candidate will have a technical background in Instrumentation & Controls (I&C), Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, along with extensive experience managing high-impact projects in the nuclear industry.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of complex nuclear projects.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and project deliverables.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and success criteria in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while implementing effective contingency plans.
  • Track project performance and provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and maintain strong communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and apply project management best practices.
  • Mentor and guide project team members, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, operations, maintenance, and business functions.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of project management experience leading complex projects, preferably within the nuclear or utility industry.
  • Demonstrated success delivering large-scale projects from planning through implementation.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, governance, and lifecycle management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams in dynamic and highly regulated environments.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and scheduling software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Technical background in:
    • Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) (Preferred)
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience managing capital projects, plant modifications, outage-related initiatives, or major infrastructure programs within a nuclear environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of risk management, forecasting, budgeting, and project controls.
Certifications
