Job description

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges. JOB DUTIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Working with minimum supervision the Data Processing Specialist will perform a variety of deadline driven tasks associated with day-to-day pre & post-test processing operations in support of flight testing. Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties: Implements data standards and deploys automation tools to extract, synthesize, and validate data from different sources and transform data into usable metrics. Performs professional work in operations research, conducts test runs on computers to correct or direct correction of programs and test data. Evaluates system readiness, ensures software/analysis tool reliability, and collaborates with other IT professionals on maintenance of workstations. Assists Special Instrumentation engineering support with data collection system troubleshooting. Designs and writes basic to moderately complex computer programs. Certifies system security, appropriate access, and data backups associated with flight test data. Ensures technical application software and user interfaces maintain full functionality and recommends modifications to engineering tools as needed. Develops and conducts studies to provide advice and evaluations of the probable effects of alternate solutions to data operations Utilizes scripting and querying tools to produce reports, data files, and dashboards for project stakeholders. Assists in the validation of pre & post-test data analysis tools/programs with discipline engineers. Assists/trains staff members and discipline engineers on the proper use of analysis tools and software Performs and trains junior staff on data recovery and serves as point of contact for problem reporting. Contributes knowledge on test ingestion and reduction processes. Develops, maintains, and produces analytical documentation. Organizes and provides Data Management framework per project, requirements, and data recovery, as required. Develops necessary data analysis processes or products associated with data reduction efforts. Provides input for the preparation of reports distributed to stakeholders and/or management. Provides support for the generation of data capture templates and the research of data errors. Interfaces with quality assurance professionals to ensure strict quality control standards are met. Operates computer systems to troubleshoot and quality control aircraft test data. Assists in developing user manuals to describe installation and operating procedures. Serves as point of contact (POC) for test data problem reporting. Understand and adhere to all local security requirements regarding the handling, transferring, shipping, and disposing of data and media products. Typical Work Schedule: Monday โ€“ Friday, 1:30 p.m. โ€“ 10:00 p.m. (2nd shift) Other duties as assigned. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Must possess an active DoD Secret level clearance (eligible for TS). REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE Associateโ€™s degree and one (1) year related experience or equivalent years of experience are required for this position. Will be required to obtain an IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ CE Certification) in a specified time. In addition, a Data Processing Specialist II must possess the following qualifications: Must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral Must maintain working knowledge of applicable computer systems, integrated software applications, and data ingestion/reduction processes and techniques Must have sufficient skill to apply the Data Management toolsets to complete required tasks Must qualify for and maintain a government security clearance Must possess a valid, state-issued driverโ€™s license Must be a U.S. citizen SALARY The expected salary range for this position is $78,250 to $100,000 annually. Note: The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. JT4, LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidateโ€™s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required. The foregoing conditions and physical requirements represent the general characteristics required to perform the essential functions for this job. In general, all positions may require standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching and crawling. If working in a training capacity, employees must be supervised at all times by a competent trained or certified company employee. Under no circumstances should employees use another employeeโ€™s equipment without permission from their immediate supervisor or manager. Conversely, employees should not allow other JT4 employees or employees of another employer to use JT4-owned or assigned equipment without proof of training and approval of the shop manager. Routine travel to remote company work locations and work in field environment with occasional overnight assignment may be required.
