Job description

About Etched

Etched is building hardware for frontier intelligence. We co-design chips, racks, software, and manufacturing to deliver best-in-class throughput and latency across both prefill and decode workloads. Our first products are heavily focused on inference. Backed by hundreds of millions from top-tier investors and staffed by leading engineers, Etched is redefining the infrastructure layer for the fastest growing industry in history.

We are an in-person team in San Jose, CA, and are on-site 5 days a week. We are looking for Summer '26, Fall '26, and Summer '27 interns.

Key responsibilities:

  • Early-Career Hiring:

    • Help execute Etched’s internship and new-grad hiring strategy.

    • Identify exceptional students through universities, technical communities, and unconventional channels.

    • Partner with recruiters and hiring leaders on targeted outreach.

  • Events & Community:

    • Plan private events across the country for high-potential students.

    • Build relationships with university clubs, professors, and student leaders.

    • Create memorable experiences that introduce candidates to Etched.

    • Own guest lists, invitations, venues, logistics, and follow-up.

  • Marketing & Sourcing:

    • Develop campaigns that make Etched stand out to top students.

    • Source candidates through events, referrals, communities, and direct outreach.

    • Create compelling early-career recruiting content.

  • Program Ownership:

    • Track event engagement and recruiting conversion.

    • Improve programs as Etched scales.

    • Collaborate across recruiting, marketing, and leadership.

Representative projects

  • Developing sourcing campaigns for hard-to-reach talent.

  • Establishing relationships with top university organizations.

  • Measuring which events and channels produce the strongest candidates.

You may be a good fit if you have

  • Experience in recruiting, sourcing, events, marketing, or community building.

  • Strong instincts for identifying and engaging exceptional people.

  • Excellent communication and project-management skills.

  • High attention to detail and comfort in a fast-changing environment.

  • Willingness to travel for events.

Strong candidates may also have experience with

  • Community Building: Developing relationships with universities and technical organizations.

  • Talent Marketing: Creating campaigns and events that resonate with top candidates.

  • Event Execution: Producing high-quality experiences for executives and priority guests.

  • Data-Driven Ownership: Measuring results and improving programs quickly.

  • Resourceful Sourcing: Finding talent through unconventional networks and personalized outreach.

We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification.

Program details:

  • 12-week paid internship

  • Generous housing support for those relocating

  • Daily lunch and dinner in our office

  • Based at our office in San Jose, CA

  • Direct mentorship from industry leaders and world-class engineers

  • Opportunity to work on one of the most important problems of our time

How we’re different

Etched believes in the Bitter Lesson. We are the first inference-focused frontier AI system. Our addressable market is the entirety of inference, unlike many of our competitors.

We are a fully in-person team in San Jose (Santana Row), and greatly value engineering skills. We do not have boundaries between engineering and research, and we expect all of our technical staff to contribute to both and work across disciplines as needed.
