Job description

About Presto Phoenix, Inc.

Presto is the leading Voice AI company for restaurant drive-thrus, operating at scale in complex, noisy, customer-facing environments. As the AI partner to more than a dozen of the most iconic American restaurant brands, Presto is building one of the most impactful real-world applications of AI that directly impacts revenue, labor efficiency, and a magical guest experience for millions of people.

AI is not a feature at Presto; it is the foundation of how we build, evaluate, and evolve our products. We operate at lightning-speed iteration cycles and are solving some of the hardest problems in Voice AI. We are backed by Remus Capital, were a Y Combinator company, and are headquartered in Silicon Valley.

This may not be the right fit for you if you are looking for a traditional 9-to-5 environment. We move at the pace of AI. Change is constant, and roadmaps evolve quickly. Presto is for builders, experimenters, and problem-solvers who thrive in ambiguity, learn continuously, and are excited to shape the future of real-world AI alongside a high-performance team.

The Role

We are looking for a Menu Operations Associate to help build, configure, and continuously improve the AI context layer that powers Presto's drive-thru Voice AI.

At Presto, "menu data" is far more than a list of items and prices. It is the dynamic configuration that defines how our AI agent behaves: the items, variants, and modifiers it can offer; the follow-up questions it asks; the upsell logic gated on cart contents, time of day, and location; and the sub-prompts that shape agent personality at the brand, group, or store level. When this context is precise, the AI feels intelligent, local, and on-brand. When it is wrong, the guest experience suffers and sales are lost.

This role sits at the intersection of operations, product, and AI, with a strong focus on data accuracy, system configuration, and speed of execution. You will own menu configurations for assigned customer accounts and ensure they are accurate, complete, and optimized for AI performance. You will be expected to leverage AI tools and automation in your daily work, continuously finding faster and smarter ways to deliver high-quality results.

Success requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and comfort working in a fast-paced, AI-native environment. You should be equally comfortable working independently and collaborating cross-functionally to resolve issues and ship improvements quickly.

This role demands obsessive attention to detail. A wrong modifier, a miscoded variant, or a mistimed upsell condition is a bad customer experience and a lost sale. You will be expected to catch errors before they reach production and hold yourself to a high quality bar across every configuration you ship.

What You'll DoAI Context Configuration and Management
  • Build, configure, and maintain restaurant menu context within Presto's content management system, including items, variants, modifiers, follow-up questions, upsell conditions, and store-level overrides
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of all AI context across assigned accounts, understanding that every configuration choice directly impacts agent behavior and guest experience
  • Support ongoing updates, changes, and optimizations, driving down turnaround time so brands are never waiting on a menu change
AI-Assisted Workflow and Automation
  • Use AI tools (such as Claude, copilots, and internal tooling) as a core part of your daily workflow to accelerate configuration, QA, and troubleshooting tasks
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive work, including bulk edits, validation checks, and data pulls across stores
  • Develop comfort with structured data formats and basic scripting to support efficient, scalable operations
Customer Support and Communication
  • Partner with new and existing customers to design, build, and maintain menu configurations that drive optimal AI performance
  • Respond to customer requests and manage issue escalation tickets within defined SLAs

  • Build strong relationships with corporate teams and restaurant operators to ensure expectations are met
Project Coordination and Execution
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing timelines and priorities

  • Track progress and ensure deadlines are met across all assigned workstreams

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on priorities, timelines, and deliverables

Technical Troubleshooting and Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Troubleshoot configuration and system-related issues by understanding how changes cascade from brand to group to store level and how they affect AI agent behavior
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to resolve technical challenges and surface product improvement opportunities
  • Participate in team meetings to communicate status, surface issues, and drive solutions

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • Experience maintaining restaurant menus in POS systems (e.g., Brink, Xenial, Aloha, Micros, Positouch, Toast)

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with an understanding that precision in configuration directly impacts AI quality
  • Comfort using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, copilots, or similar) to accelerate work and solve problems; a genuine interest in integrating AI into daily workflows
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

  • Comfort operating in fast-paced environments with changing priorities

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, team-oriented mindset

Nice to Have
  • Basic scripting or automation experience (Python or similar)

  • Experience with LLM prompting, conversational AI, or agent-based systems

  • Previous project management or project coordination experience

  • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira or similar tools)

  • Experience working in a high-growth or startup environment

  • Familiarity with restaurant operations, terminology, and workflows

Why Presto

We move at the speed of AI. Change is constant, and iteration is rapid. This is not a traditional environment. Success requires adaptability, curiosity, and a willingness to solve problems in real time.

You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and performance of the AI context layer that powers real-world voice experiences across restaurant locations nationwide. The quality of your work directly determines how intelligent, helpful, and on-brand the AI feels to millions of guests.

This role offers ownership, cross-functional exposure, and the opportunity to make a direct impact on customer success and AI product performance.

Compensation and Benefits

The U.S. base salary range for this position is approximately $55,000 to $80,000 annually, plus benefits. Compensation is determined by role, level, location, and individual experience.

Benefits for U.S.-based employees include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) program, and paid time off (PTO).
