Detailed Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Lab technician to oversee the management and maintenance of our cutting-edge technology lab. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of hardware and software, particularly in the realm of Google Pixel devices (phones, watches, and buds), Linux server administration, Networking, and inventory management systems.
Responsibilities:
Hardware Management:
• Maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of Google Pixel devices, including phones, watches, and buds.
• Configure and optimize devices for various testing and development scenarios.
• Ensure devices are up to date with the latest firmware and software.
• Manage device inventory, including tracking assets, performing regular audits, and coordinating repairs or replacements.
Linux Server Administration:
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux servers.
• Managing user accounts and permissions.
• Monitoring server performance and security.
• Troubleshooting server issues.
• Implementing backups and disaster recovery procedures.
• Scripting for automation of tasks.
Networking:
• Setting up and maintaining network infrastructure.
• Troubleshooting network connectivity problems.
• Configuring network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Maintaining network security.
Inventory Management:
• Oversee the inventory of lab equipment, including hardware, software licenses, and consumables.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory items and their locations.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely replenishment of supplies.
• Implement efficient inventory management processes and tools.
Lab Operations:
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide support to lab users.
• Coordinate with other teams to ensure smooth lab operations.
• Stay up to date with the latest technological advancements and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
• Strong technical skills, including experience with:
• Google Pixel devices (phones, watches, buds)
