Role Overview
We are looking for a technically strong Project Manager / Delivery Manager with prior hands-on experience as a Developer or Technical Lead, who has transitioned into a project or delivery management role. The individual should have deep technical understanding to effectively lead complex data engineering and modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end delivery of medium to large-scale data migration and data platform modernization initiatives.
Drive project planning, execution, and governance across onshore and offshore teams.
Develop and manage detailed project plans, migration roadmaps, sprint backlogs, and delivery milestones.
Coordinate closely with engineering, infrastructure, and architecture teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
Proactively identify technical risks, bottlenecks, and design gaps, and define mitigation strategies.
Facilitate informed decision-making by leveraging strong technical depth and understanding of underlying platforms.
Ensure adherence to delivery timelines, quality standards, and stakeholder expectations.
Required Experience & Skills
Prior hands-on experience as a Developer or Technical Lead before moving into a Project Manager or Delivery Manager role.
Strong background in data engineering, infrastructure management, and data architecture.
Proven experience leading:
Data migrations
Data platform buildouts
Data pipelines, ETL frameworks, orchestration, and streaming data services
Demonstrated ability in technical project/delivery management for complex, large-scale programs.
Strong understanding of agile delivery, sprint planning, and execution.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with modern data platforms and cloud-based data ecosystems.
Prior exposure to data modernization or transformation programs.
Ability to work effectively with globally distributed teams.
While it may be challenging to find candidates who meet all criteria, strong technical background combined with hands-on project management experience in data migrations or modernization is critical for this role.
