Senior Project Manager โ€“ Cloud Migration

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager โ€“ Cloud Migration to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of enterprise cloud migration initiatives involving applications, data, and infrastructure.

This is a hands-on project management role responsible for managing migration plans, schedules, dependencies, risks, budgets, resources, and cutover activities while coordinating closely with engineering, security, business teams, vendors, and leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong project management experience combined with a solid understanding of cloud technologies and migration strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver enterprise cloud migration projects involving applications, data, and infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain detailed migration plans covering scope, schedules, dependencies, resources, milestones, and rollback strategies.
  • Lead day-to-day delivery of cloud migration workstreams and track progress against established milestones.
  • Manage project timelines, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, issues, and change requests throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate workloads and dependencies across multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Partner with cloud architects, engineers, security teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and leadership to ensure successful migrations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project status, communications, dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Identify migration risks early and maintain risk and issue registers.
  • Manage change requests through appropriate approval and communication processes.
  • Plan and coordinate cloud migration cutovers and go-live activities, including readiness assessments, communications, and contingency planning.
  • Monitor project budgets and resource schedules and support forecasting of cloud spend during migration.
  • Maintain project documentation, CRAIDL logs, status reports, and post-milestone reviews.
  • Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders and translate technical information into clear business terms.
  • Apply Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies as appropriate.
  • Support continuous improvement by documenting lessons learned and applying best practices.
  • Perform additional project management activities as requested.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor''s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3โ€“5 years of project management experience, including at least 2 years managing cloud or infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale enterprise IT projects involving significant budgets, multiple teams, and cross-departmental dependencies.
  • Experience managing project plans, schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables through full project lifecycles.
  • Working knowledge of at least one major cloud platform, such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Understanding of cloud migration strategies, including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and re-architecting.
  • Experience coordinating migrations across multiple cloud providers or hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and/or Waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Experience with project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Planner.
  • Familiarity with networking, security, and data migration considerations in cloud environments.
  • Experience coordinating technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple workstreams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and risk-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-changing technical environment.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to build trust across technical and business teams.
  • PMP, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or similar project management certification preferred.
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices, including Terraform and CI/CD pipelines, preferred.
