Job description

We are seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Manager, Data Governance to support the definition and implementation of  data governance initiatives with a strong focus on enabling AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics capabilities. This role will ensure that data is trusted, compliant, well-managed, and AI-ready across the organization.

The ideal candidate combines strong governance foundations with practical experience supporting AI use cases, responsible AI frameworks, and data lifecycle management in complex environments.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

AI-READY DATA GOVERNANCE STRATEGY

  • Support the definition and implementation of data governance framework aligned to AI and advanced analytics initiatives

  • Help standards for high-quality, well-documented, ethically sourced data suitable for AI model training and deployment

  • Partner with AI/ML teams to ensure governance requirements are embedded into model development lifecycles

RESPONSIBLE AI & RISK OVERSIGHT

  • Assist in applying responsible AI guidelines, including practices related to data quality, transparency, and risk awareness

  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Cybersecurity teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and ethical standards

DATA STEWARDSHIP & OWNERSHIP

  • Support the definition of clear data ownership and stewardship roles across business domains within the region

  • Help enable domain teams to manage their data as strategic AI assets

  • Contribute to regional  governance councils and working groups to help define governance rules and practices across the business

PRIVACY, SECURITY & COMPLIANCE

  • Help ensure AI datasets comply with data privacy regulations and internal security standards

  • Support oversight of sensitive data handling, anonymization, and usage monitoring

  • Support data retention and lifecycle management policies

CHANGE MANAGEMENT & ENABLEMENT

  • Drive adoption of governance practices through training, communication, and tooling

  • Promote a culture of data literacy and AI accountability

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on AI data risks and opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field

  • 7+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or enterprise data strategy

  • Experience supporting AI/ML, advanced analytics, or digital transformation initiatives

  • Strong understanding of data lifecycle management, metadata, lineage, and quality frameworks

  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)

  • Experience implementing governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Purview, etc.)

PREFERRED

  • Experience with AI governance frameworks or model risk management

  • Familiarity with MLOps, model monitoring, and AI audit requirements

  • Understanding of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data ecosystems

  • Certifications such as CDMP, DCAM, DAMA, or AI governance credentials
