Trust for the National Mall Internships (Multiple Focus Areas Available)Compensation: $18.50/hrTerm: early-September - early/mid-December 2026, flexibleExpectation: 20 - 25 hours per weekWork Location: Hybrid work environment, with at least 2 days / week in office, 1717 Pennsylvania Ave NW To apply:Please submit a resume, transcript, and cover letter to express interest in this position. Description:Interns at the Trust for the National Mall support the implementation of the Trust's goals and strategies by serving in one of the following focus areas: Education (Programs) and Operations. Interns will gain an understanding of the complex operations of a nonprofit and will have the opportunity to participate in diverse projects while learning and gaining skills to support their career aspirations. While the focus areas give an overview of projects, incumbents may support work from other focus areas as interested and available.Intern Focus Areas:Education (Programs): As part of the Programs Team, the Education Intern will play a key role in developing the Trust's recently launched educational and civic learning platform, the National Mall Gateway. The intern will support researching and writing educational content, with a focus on creating learning activities for various audiences. The intern will also support visitor-facing needs on the National Mall, including staffing exhibit spaces at the US Park Police Horse Stables and Education Center and the Lockkeeper's House.Responsibilities: researching and creating content for the National Mall Gateway; converting virtual programs into re-usable activity outlines; assembling marketing kits for distribution to classrooms; preparing materials for educational conferences; supporting the execution of public programs; staffing Trust priority sites on the National Mall; data management, tabling, and assisting with inventory.Operations: As part of the Operations Team, the Operations Intern will support initiatives that enhance employee experience and organizational effectiveness. The intern will assist with planning staff events and learning opportunities, supporting organizational planning processes, maintaining office operations, and helping manage internal data and administrative processes. The role offers hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, workplace culture, and organizational management.Responsibilities: supporting the planning and execution of staff events, retreats, and employee engagement initiatives; coordinating Lunch & Learn programs; assisting with annual planning, goal setting, and evaluation processes; maintaining office supplies and shared spaces; supporting data collection and reporting; and assisting with operational projects and administrative tasks across the organization.Preferred Qualifications:Current college (undergraduate or graduate) student or within 1 year of graduating.Able to commit at least 20-25 hours / week during normal office hours (Monday - Friday).
