Job Purpose & Scope

Responsible for orchestrating, developing, maintaining and monitoring end-to-end data pipelines using standard enterprise toolsets.  You will ensure data visibility through our data observability and governance platform, enable seamless data flow and integrity across the organization. 


Essential Job Functions
  1. Collaborate with the data engineering teams as well as business stakeholders to understand, implement, and explain data process dependencies, establish internal and external data operations to support service level agreements (SLA’), notification management, data classification, and support data quality.
  2. Orchestrates Data Pipelines across multiple tools and environments using event-based scheduling.
  3. Integrates multiple data platforms to enable data lineage, observability, classification and quality metrics in a single user experience.
  4. Setup monitoring of pipeline using SLA’s, notifications, determine restart strategies, parallelism and execution pools.
  5. Ensures data ingestion, transformation, analytical models, extracts, integrations, dashboards and reports run efficiently and reliably; troubleshoots and resolves data pipeline issues.
  6. Analyze performance, storage and cost trends, raise alerts and make recommendations for improvements, as needed.
  7. Automates repeatable processes, abstracts event-based flows to a manageable framework and ensures the lineage is visible through third party tools.
  8. May include alternate schedules to cover critical processing periods.
  9. Collaborate with data engineers to enhance data architecture and integration solutions.
  10. Supports compliance and governance efforts related to data security and privacy.
  11. Identifies and resolves data anomalies, inconsistencies, and integrity issues through automated frameworks.
  12. Documents processes, workflows, and best practices for data operations.
  13. Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of the other essential job functions.
  14. Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work.
  15. Follows all Bank policy, practice, and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  1. Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) and data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, etc.).
  2. Ability to utilize tools such as DBT, Power BI, and Docker.
  3. Ability to demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on automation, root cause analysis and data integrity.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  5. Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and with internal and external stakeholders of varying levels.
  6. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both as part of a team and independently, while demonstrating effective interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to demonstrate leadership and organizational awareness skills.
  8. Ability to demonstrate effective strategic, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  9. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, working with both exacting deadlines and shifting demands, unforeseen events, and changing priorities.
  10. Ability to demonstrate initiative and be proactive in accomplishing work tasks and objectives.
  11. Proficiency with Python and knowledge of scripting languages such as Windows PowerShell or Linux Bash Shell scripting.
  12. Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL, etc.).

Basic Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or commensurate work experience, required.

  2. 3+ years of experience in data operations, data engineering, quality assurance or a similar role, required.

  3. 2+ years of Python development experience, required.

  4. 2+ years of SQL experience, required.
