Job description

We are partnering with a leading global investment management firm to identify an Associate – Reference Data / Security Master Data for its growing Investment Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity for an operations professional who enjoys working with complex financial products, solving data challenges, and partnering with investment teams across the business.

This role is focused on maintaining the accuracy and integrity of security master and investment reference data that supports trading, accounting, risk management, and reporting. You'll work with a wide range of fixed income, private credit, and structured products while collaborating with portfolio managers, traders, operations, and technology teams to ensure high-quality investment data.

What You'll Do

  • Set up and maintain securities across internal investment platforms.

  • Review legal and credit documentation to extract and validate key security terms.

  • Maintain accurate security reference data across multiple investment systems.

  • Partner with investment, trading, operations, and technology teams to support new security onboarding and resolve data issues.

  • Perform reconciliations and data quality reviews to ensure accurate investment reporting.

  • Support system enhancements, testing, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Help identify opportunities to improve automation, strengthen controls, and increase operational efficiency.

  • Participate in projects that enhance security master and reference data processes across the organization.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.

  • 3–6+ years of experience in investment operations, security master, reference data, asset servicing, or a similar function.

  • Experience supporting fixed income, private credit, or structured products.

  • Ability to interpret legal or governing investment documents and extract key security information.

  • Strong understanding of investment operations and the security lifecycle.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical abilities.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.

  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with mortgage-backed or other structured products.

  • Familiarity with investment platforms such as Everest, VPM, Thinkfolio, PAM, Markit EDM, or similar systems.

  • Exposure to Bloomberg or other market data providers.

  • Experience supporting insurance investment platforms or institutional asset management.

  • Participation in system implementations, process improvements, or data governance initiatives.
