This internship provides a valuable opportunity to gain a unique view of the inner workings of Town government, as well as gaining professional-level public sector experience. The Mayor's Office works with residents, elected officials, local businesses, community groups and organizations, and federal and state agencies.

To be considered for an internship position with the Town of Chapel Hill, candidates must:
Each intern will be paid a rate of $20.00 per hour. You must first complete the pre-employment screening process before starting work. Program Support employees do not accrue Town benefits and may not work more than 950 hours in a rolling 12-month period. Students will work on average 10 to 12 hours per week depending on school schedules and the needs of the department. Each department can be flexible depending on the schedule and availability of the student, but hours will generally fall between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. This internship may include some limited evening hours.
