Role Summary:
The Data Quality & Reporting Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of key data points across the organization's systems and documentation and delivering key enterprise-level reporting to external partners. This role will partner closely with stakeholders from across the organization, including IT and business representatives, on data integrity and digitization efforts. The Analyst role will also monitor standard industry and academic housing, economic and community development data/report releases for integration and trend analysis opportunities, and generate, at minimum, geographic visualization outputs for impact and other communication purposes.
What You'll Do:
  • Data Quality Monitoring & Validation
    • Develop, document, implement, and maintain data quality rules and automated checks.
    • Conduct routine audits on key datasets.
    • Identify data anomalies, gaps, duplicates, or inconsistencies and notify data owners for resolution, in some instances updating data directly
    • Partner with businesses to identify data gaps, research and validate external data sets where relevant, and partner with IT to develop and implement projects to access external data for one-time and/or recurring needs.
  • Issue Management & Root Cause Analysis
    • Investigate data issues reported by business users or discovered through monitoring.
    • Perform root cause analysis to identify process, system, or integration gaps.
    • Partner with IT, product, and operations teams to implement corrective actions or system enhancements.
  • Data Governance & Standards
    • Support enterprise data governance frameworks, including data catalogs, definitions, lineage, and stewardship.
    • Ensure compliance with internal data management policies as well as investor/regulatory obligations (Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, HUD, etc.).
  • Reporting & Documentation
    • Manage key annual external reporting submissions.
    • Produce regular reporting on data quality trends, KPIs, and remediation progress.
    • Document business-side data flows and processes, and propose new definitions.
  • Visualization
    • Partner with technology MSP to leverage internal data and integrate external data sets.
    • Utilize mapping visualization application (preference is PolicyMap) to generate high impact analysis for use in internal and external collateral.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
    • Work with business and technology teams to ensure correct data capture and system behavior.
    • Participate in data migration, system implementations, and integrations, where relevant.
    • Support automation and AI initiatives by providing validated, high‑quality data inputs.

Skills and Experience:
  • Master's degree in Information Systems, Finance, Data Analytics, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 2-5+ years of experience in data quality, business analysis, data governance, or data operations required.
  • Experience using visualization applications to create high impact mapping/graphics required.
  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem‑solving ability.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams.
  • Familiarity generating reports or inputs requiring data gathering from multiple functions.
  • Familiarity with mortgage lending, servicing, or financial services workflows preferred.
  • Experience developing and managing dashboards preferred.
  • Experience with loan origination systems (LOS), servicing platforms, or ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) preferred.
  • Experience using IMPLAN a plus.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks, publicly available data sets and/or partners generating key recurring reporting relevant to housing finance or CDFIs preferred.

This is a hybrid role where you will work from the Manhattan office two-three days a week. The salary range is $70,000 - $90,000, dependent on experience.
