Job Summary:
Leeward Renewable Energy is forging an American energy future with integrity and innovation. The Data Integration & Pipeline Engineer will build and maintain reliable data pipelines that power analytics and operational systems, ensuring efficient data flow across platforms while implementing technical controls for quality and performance.
Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data
• Integrate APIs, third-party data, and operational systems
• Design and optimize curated (bronze/silver/gold) data layers
• Automate data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability frameworks
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of pipelines
• Troubleshoot data failures and performance bottlenecks
• Embed validation checks and quality controls within pipelines
• Support MDM integrations and data synchronization processes
• Collaborate with Governance & Quality Engineer to implement steward-defined rules
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5+ years in data engineering
• Strong SQL and programming skills (Python, Scala, etc.)
• Experience building pipelines in cloud data platforms
• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices for data
• Understanding of data modeling concepts and data warehouse/lakehouse design
Preferred:
• Experience implementing data quality frameworks, validation rules, and pipeline testing
• Familiarity with metadata management and data catalog platforms (Collibra, Alation, Purview)
• Experience supporting analytics and BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
• Experience working in agile data teams with strong collaboration between engineering, governance, and analytics
