Job description

Clerical Support Position

This is a clerical support position responsible for performing customer service duties. The primary function of this position is to schedule and book reservations for Palm Tran's paratransit customers - answering inbound calls in a call center environment, entering information regarding eligible clients, and performing various customer service functions. Work requires the ability to plan, arrange and prioritize trips accordingly. Selected candidate may also be on call for emergency preparedness. Supervision is received from an administrative superior who reviews work through observation and written reports.

Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification (GED). A minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience and inputting of customer data; or any equivalent combination of related training and experience. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Bilingual – English/Spanish/Creole. Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with course work in health care administration, physical therapy, occupational therapy, psychology, social work, or related field. Knowledge of American Disability Act (ADA) and Transportation Disadvantaged (TD) Program requirements. A minimum of six (6) months of previous customer service experience within a call center environment. Knowledge of how the relationship between disabilities and medical conditions contributes to the use of the transportation services Palm Tran provides.
