Job description

Data Governance Specialist

The Opportunity:

For an organization to transform in today's digital world, it needs to properly collect, store, and organize its data. Effective data management can enable more efficient operations, yielding more growth. As a data governance specialist, you know how to apply your creative-thinking and analytical mindset to help organizations manage their data assets. We're looking for a data architecture lead like you to solve complex challenges and deliver leading-edge solutions for the US Department of War.

As a data architect on our DoW CIO support team, you'll use your extensive technical expertise to lead the design of data governance solutions for special enclave DoW environments. You'll resolve routine data governance issues in collaboration with business analysts and technology teams by driving changes to policy and establishing a data governance framework to drive consistent tagging, tracking, transmission, and communication of data and data assets.

In this role, you'll share your technical expertise, introduce best practices, and influence the comparison and employment of tools. You'll lead your team as it designs, defines, develops, and tests cloud solution components, and you'll serve as a liaison between clients and developers to ensure that requirements are met and solutions are delivered.

You Have:

  • 12+ years of experience working with data or in a data field

  • Knowledge of the US Department of War, it's components, and how they interoperate

  • Knowledge of DoW cybersecurity and privacy regulations including DoDI 8500.01, RMF, and NIST SP 800-53 and how they relate to data governance

  • Ability to develop and implement a robust data management framework that ensures the integrity, accessibility, security, and compliance of data throughout its lifecycle

  • Ability to manage data quality, security, usage, and sharing across the information enterprise and manage sharing across special program systems

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Master's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience supporting an Office of the Secretary of War or associated office

  • Knowledge of the DoW policy process, the authorities, and responsibilities of DoW components that are relevant to advancing data policy and strategy that impacts the DoW enterprise

  • Ability to design a data governance framework that outlines roles, responsibilities, processes, and policies for managing data across the DoW enterprise

  • Master's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics or Mathematics

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
