Is data governance a good career path?

Data governance is a viable career path for those interested in managing data quality, compliance, and security within organizations. It often requires skills in data management tools, understanding of regulations like GDPR or HIPAA, and certifications such as CDGP or DAMA-DMBOK. Familiarity with data governance platforms (such as Collibra or Informatica), data mapping tools, and relevant certifications (like CDMP or DGSP) is highly beneficial. Will data governance jobs be replaced by AI?

Data governance jobs involve managing data quality, compliance, and policies, which require human judgment, oversight, and understanding of organizational context.
