We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Microsoft Fabric Data Architect to join our team at ivision. In this role, you will lead solution-delivery initiatives focused on modern data architectures built on Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, and complementary analytics platforms. This role blends technical leadership, strategic consulting, and solution architecture to help clients modernize their data ecosystem, improve analytics capabilities, and realize business value from unified data engineering, data science, and BI practices.

You will partner closely with Sales, Managed Services, and Consulting teams to assess data maturity, design scalable architectures, and guide clients through end-to-end data modernization. Acting as a trusted advisor to enterprise customers, you will ensure the success of complex data engagements from concept to delivery while mentoring architects, consultants, and engineers across ivisionโ€™s data and cloud practices.

Essential FunctionsConsulting Services
  • Architect and deliver end-to-end Microsoft Fabricโ€“based solutions, including lakehouse implementations, medallion architectures, ingestion pipelines, semantic models, and governance frameworks.
  • Partner with cross-functional technical and business teams to design modern data platforms aligned to business outcomes, performance requirements, and security standards.
  • Lead client discovery, data landscape assessments, and modernization roadmaps to align technical strategy with organizational goals.
  • Define technical workstreams, milestones, and dependencies for data platform projects in collaboration with project managers.
  • Produce high-quality architecture deliverables including reference architectures, data models, pipeline designs, governance frameworks, and operational runbooks.
  • Provide technical oversight for multi-workstream teams to ensure alignment, quality, and successful delivery.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex data and architecture challenges, exercising proactive leadership and communication.
  • Promote consistency and efficiency by developing reusable assets such as templates, architecture patterns, and solution accelerators.
  • Demonstrate ownership of client success by anticipating challenges, mitigating risk, and ensuring delivery excellence.
  • Comfort with using AI to improve efficiency.
  • Comfort training clients and engineers on Fabric technologies.
Pre-Sales
  • Lead technical pre-sales engagements by translating client business and analytics objectives into actionable solution architectures and delivery approaches.
  • Conduct data assessments, Fabric readiness evaluations, and strategic roadmap workshops to define modern, scalable, and secure data solutions.
  • Engage with Microsoft to ensure that the ivision Data strategy aligns with where Microsoft and the broader market are heading
  • Partner with Account Executives and practice leaders to scope work, estimate effort, and develop Statements of Work (SOWs), proposals, and supporting artifacts.
  • Facilitate design sessions and whiteboarding workshops across data engineering, analytics, and governance stakeholders.
  • Validate solutions for sustainability, performance, compliance, and cost-effectiveness before handoff to delivery.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Power BI, Databricks, and modern data architecture patterns.
  • Support go-to-market initiatives through enablement content, partner alignment, and participation in strategic client meetings.
  • Ensure a seamless transition from pre-sales to delivery through disciplined documentation and communication practices.
  • Contribute to pipeline growth by shaping data-related offerings and influencing key customer opportunities.
Practice Development
  • Identify opportunities to improve data delivery processes and propose actionable enhancements.
  • Mentor a small team of resources to help develop a larger Data Architecture practice
  • Lead or contribute to the development of new data platform offerings, including business justification and technical definition.
  • Strengthen the data consulting practice by mentoring team members, improving documentation, and enhancing repeatable delivery methods.
  • Champion ivisionโ€™s partnership ecosystemโ€”especially Microsoftโ€”by maintaining current expertise and supporting partner initiatives and certifications.
  • Improve internal methodologies related to data architecture, Fabric delivery, cost modeling, and governance.
  • Serve as SME for Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data, Power BI, and related technologies to support internal training and offering development.
  • Drive โ€œReady for Sale / Ready for Deliveryโ€ initiatives by building reusable IP such as reference implementations, migration guides, and architectural frameworks.
  • Collaborate with Practice Directors to expand or refine offerings aligned to emerging data and analytics trends.
