Through enterprise programs, tools, and partnerships, the team helps leaders and teams strengthen connection, belonging, ownership, and performance; embed desired ways of working into the everyday coworker experience, and build the capabilities needed to turn culture into a driver of business outcomes.

 
Position Summary

As an Expert Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in advancing how the organization uses workforce and culture data to understand the coworker experience and drive measurable improvement. You will transform complex data into actionable enterprise insights by identifying trends, patterns, relationships, and emerging opportunities that extend beyond traditional reporting.

In this role, you will partner with leaders and cross-functional teams to translate findings into clear recommendations, identify where targeted interventions and resources can have the greatest impact, and establish meaningful ways to measure progress over time. Through advanced analytics, visualization, and storytelling, you will help leaders move from understanding what the data says to understanding why it matters, where to focus, and what actions are most likely to improve outcomes.

The role is hybrid working from your remote office and in-person at Oakland General Office, 2-3x per month based on business needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs analysis on highly complex data models that have cross- functional impact.
  • Applies advanced knowledge to a wide range of business issues.
  • Develop innovative data solutions to address complex business issues.
  • Presents findings and proposed recommendations to leaders.
  • Develop business cases in support of strategy or change initiatives.
  • Works with and leverages relationships with Directors and Managers across functions / PG&E.
  • Manages cross-functional projects or initiatives.
  • May provide direction and coaching to other Business Analysts.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or job-related field or equivalent experience
  • 6 years of related work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to create Lean visual management

Desired:

  • Extensive knowledge of different analytical methods, approaches, and tactics
  • Broad expertise in what-if modeling analysis, concepts, methods and techniques and analysis of how different factors affect business outcomes
  • Creative problem-solving skills to develop solutions
  • Strong analytical and writing skills to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs
  • Influence skills to effectively gain buy in from leaders inside and outside of the department Knowledge and understanding of key drivers affecting business results
  • Project management skills to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams
  • Organizational, prioritization and multitasking skills
  • Adaptable to changing business conditions and ambiguity
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Project, Visio, or similar software

Compensation

PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint of the range. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

  • Bay Area Mid: $158,000
  • Bay Area Max: $194,000
