Job description

  • Position Summary
    • Performs a variety of duties related to the authorization and recertification of insurance for the patient of the Hyperbaric /Wound Center and their physicians. Coordinates a variety of general office duties to assist the staff of the Hyperbaric/Wound Center. Reports to the Program Director/Clinical Manager for Speciality Services and is responsible for coordinating office services and maintaining office records.

    • 1 Year Office - Required
    • Experience with customer service. Demonstrate clear oral and written communication skills. Meets patient in a compassionate, responsive and courteous manner. Display high energy and teamwork. There are a number of deadlines associated with this position and must also deal with a wide variety of people on various issues.

  • Core Job Functions
    • Obtains insurance information from customers and obtain insurance verifications for services. Record insurance information appropriately for future verification and audit.  Answers phone, greets customers, routes calls to appropriate staff and schedules patient appointments.             
    • Provides data entry into database and data entry into hospital data system as directed. Enter patient charges and reconcile as directed.  Maintain physical charts and ensures proper composition  of all charts.   
    • Provide tracking on tests ordered for existing and new patients. Reviews records to ensure tests are available for next patient.  Refer studies and tests to appropriate department.      
    • Ensure proper operation of equipment and reports problems to management. Provide training on office equipment for new personnel.  Maintain adequate office supplies to support center.
