Job Summary

The Car Accounting Coordinator is responsible for auditing railroad car hire expenses and revenue to ensure accuracy and compliance with all applicable agreements. This role includes data entry, processing time claims and counterclaims, and compiling information for monthly billbacks to customers leasing company owned railcars.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Audit car hire expenses and revenues to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements
• Perform detailed and timely data entry of car hire transactions into the accounting system
• Process time claims and counterclaims, ensuring accurate documentation and resolution
• Gather, organize, and prepare data for monthly billbacks to customers leasing company owned railcars
• Coordinate with internal departments to identify and resolve discrepancies related to car hire charges
• Maintain accurate records and documentation to support internal and external audit requirements
• Complete data entry tasks and audits promptly while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable industry regulations
• Collaborate effectively with team members and cross functional departments to resolve issues
• Manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic environment
