Job description

Pay:ย  $20.00-$22.00/hr.ย 

Jacksons is seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant with a high level of skills in Microsoft Excel and data manipulation to join our team. If youโ€™re reliable and eager to learn, then this is the right job for you! The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who can rise to the challenge.ย  Under limited supervision, this position will conduct complex discrepancy research; process invoices, process/post customer payments and collect past due receivables on assigned customer accounts by means of standard communication both internally and externally in a fast-paced environment.

Shift:ย  Full-time Monday - Friday

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, compile, and sort documents for data entry into accounting systems.
  • Evaluate source documents for accuracy, reconcile and verify data for entry, and modify where necessary.
  • Process and create customer invoices, daily EFT settlements and post customer payments.
  • Set up new customer accounts, ensure receipt of account information and perform verbal confirmations with customer.
  • Process vendor invoices through accounts payable software to obtain payment approval according to company policy.
  • Communicate with vendors and resolve payment or billing issues.
  • Report on daily bank activity to management.
  • Process deposits including coding and posting payments.
  • Conduct account research and provide support for internal and external customers.
  • Other reconciliations, duties or special projects as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Prior accounts receivable, payable, or other accounting related experience preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook proficiency (Excel test may be required)
  • A history of providing excellent customer service and knowledge of collections.
  • A high degree of effectiveness with exceptional attention to detail, can complete work with minimal errors and are able to find solutions to issues.
  • Accurate data entry, with strong analytical skills and ability to multitask.
  • A high level of productivity โ€“ You work efficiently, are well organized, and prioritize work properly to meet demands.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization.
  • Effectiveness in working both as a team and independently with minimal direction.
  • Strong initiative, problem solving, and resolution skills
