JOB SUMMARY

The Project Accountant is responsible for compiling, analyzing, monitoring, and accurately presenting financial data for assigned construction projects. This role works closely with Project Executives, Project Managers, accounting leadership, and field personnel to ensure accurate project financial reporting and compliance with contractual and company requirements. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines, and effective collaboration with clients, architects, consultants, and subcontractors. All duties are performed in support of the Company’s vision, mission, and core values. This position is a full-time, on-site role with standard business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position can be based in either our Gainesville or Orlando, FL offices.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience required. 
  • Construction or job cost accounting experience is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with accounting systems; Sage and Timberline experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to Company financial policies, procedures, and best practices while proactively communicating potential risks or profitability concerns to management.
  • Utilize the Company Policy and Procedures Manual, Best Practices Guidelines, and Master Forms Library.
  • Perform accounts payable functions, including data entry, email management, HH2 processing, EFT transactions, and check processing.
  • Manage company credit card activity, including issue resolution, coding, special purchases, and new hire training.
  • Support payroll processes, including timesheet reconciliation, wage reconciliation, file maintenance, data entry, and quarterly reporting.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Assist with special projects and perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
