Job description

LaPrairie Crane, a member of LaPrairie Group of Companies, is one of Canada’s largest independent mobile-crane companies with fleet capabilities ranging from 5 – 600 tons, including all terrain, boom truck, carry deck, crawler, hydraulic truck, rough terrain, and tower cranes.


 LaPrairie Crane is looking to immediately fill the position of Facility Administrator.


 This position is full-time and will be based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, organized, adaptable and enjoys working in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide general reception duties such as first point of contact for visitors, answering and directing calls, shipping (both incoming and outgoing), etc.
  • Maintain visitor log.
  • Provide administrative support to Operations and Maintenance departments, as needed.
  • Assist with file and document management, including scanning, copying, and posting materials.
  • Perform accurate data entry.
  • Update electronic filing systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date spreadsheets for tracking certifications, permits, and CVIP dates.
  • Order and stock office supplies.
  • Support managers with quote development and pricing, as needed.
  • Track visa receipts and code to proper accounts.
  • Arrange/book travel for operators.
  • Schedule meetings and take meeting minutes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Previous experience with reception duties and answering phones an asset.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time-management capabilities required.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs of busy office environment required.
  • An enthusiastic, positive outlook and willingness to learn required.
  • Office Administration diploma or certificate considered an asset.
  • Training, certificates, or previous experience in health and safety considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 license.
  • Driver's abstract in good standing.
