Job description

Attendance/Data Entry Clerk

Silbernagel Elementary School

Non-exempt

Per Compensation Manual

Maintain accurate student records at the campus level

Perform data entry and verification for student demographic, attendance, and PEIMS data

Run student database maintenance routines and backups

Support campus staff in the use of the student information system

High School Diploma or GED

Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records

Proficient in the use of personal computers and software to develop spreadsheets, databases and do word processing (Microsoft Office Products)

Proficient typing, keyboarding, and file maintenance skills

Ability to meet established deadlines

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of district student information system

Have knowledge of school operations. Must be familiar with PEIMS reporting rules and requirements

Process student enrollment, withdrawals, and record requests; update student demographic data as needed

Maintain physical and computerized records including student cumulative folders and class rosters (also class schedules and report cards if applicable)

Collect and enter attendance and PEIMS data into the student information system and verify accuracy according to established procedures

Balance campus membership and attendance on a daily, weekly, and six-week cycle basis

Analyze data for reasonableness, recognize deficiencies, and correct errors in original data prior to processing or when appropriate return to the originator for correction

Process absence excuse notes, print and distribute attendance letters, and report all attendance problems to the designated administrator

Process student discipline records as directed by the designated campus administrator

Perform student information system maintenance routines and backups as required

Work closely with the district PEIMS office to produce complete, accurate, and timely PEIMS submissions

Attend district meetings that pertain to the student information system and PEIMS reporting

Maintain a working knowledge of current PEIMS requirements and rules

Support campus staff in the use of the student information system

Produce reports for campus and district staff as needed or requested

Maintain confidentiality

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or administrator

Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals

Frequent walking and reaching, frequent standing; kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Frequent light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); heavy lifting (45 pounds or over)

Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise; exposure to biological hazards (body fluids, bacteria, communicable diseases)

Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; Ability to interact positively and proactively with students, staff, parents, and the community

Dress must be clean, neat, in a manner appropriate for his or her assignment, and in accordance with any additional standards established by his or her supervisor and approved by the Superintendent. During work hours, visible body piercings (except earrings) will not be allowed.

Performance of this position will be evaluated annually
